Should my SP250 break down , where should I advise best place to connect a strap to pull onto a recovery vehicle ?

I think I’d put the strap around the main chassis cross member, underneath the engine – I’ll attach a photograph if I can work out how to do it. A bit of a grovel & probably oily but it ought to be possible to pass the strap underneath the car, around the chassis and back. The ‘filler plates’ attached to the bottom of the radiator and across the chassis makes it difficult / impossible to use anything in front of this cross member. I wouldn’t like to use the cross-tube that supports the front of the body – it might be alright but could bend, or damage the chassis, especially if there’s any corrosion.

Link to photograph of chassis, as mentioned in my last post (via YT post; I hope it works)- http://youtube.com/post/UgkxC_7RcClW9zYWSGPOGPjjRr-W01zLxlk1?si=MnF4HslPKd6LJkaw

I had to be recovered home last year after foolishly putting 50 litres of Diesel in my SP (my daily drivers run on the stuff). Fortunately I realised straight away so the only damage was to my wallet and pride. The recovery chap rigged up a system using both wishbones.

Oh dear – though easily done. At least with the ‘classic’ car its easy to drain the tank and flush the diesel out of the fuel lines, etc. Certainly easier than a modern car.

The wishbones ought to be plenty strong enough – I just though a single strap around the chassis might be quicker(?) Not that anyone would want to be doing it often :).
