ParticipantThere are various companies however, I use Stella Lux H4 LEDs in headlamps only . There are a number of sellers of this product . Therefore google Stella LUX Led and the price is from about £104 to £115 a set.

ParticipantI’ve swapped all mine to LED. This was my experience with the indicators https://youtu.be/nETwFVuW9L8

ParticipantJust fitted Stella Lux H4 LED bulbs but they flicker at idle, up to about 1200rpm. Steady when engine off, though.
I spoke to Dynalite, thinking that may be relevant. Very helpful as always, no solution but suggested a relay might help.
Any thoughts?

ParticipantThanks, Lawrence and Dave for your help away from the forum.
It seems there may be something unusual in my car, possibly related to the Dynalite output, but I found that a set from Classic Car LEDs worked with only the slightest hint of a flicker at idle. So they’re less susceptible to whatever it is!
FYI, the Stella Lux units are very compact and have a cooling fan, plus the control box and connector, which fit quite easily between reflector and bowl. The Classic Car LEDs have instead a heat sink, a bigger box and a bigger connector and are very difficult to cram in, not forgetting to add a heat shield (a square of soldering mat) to protect the original wiring from the heat sink. They are waterproofed to IP65 so that they can be installed outside the bowl but cable lengths would leave them in the wheelarch.
Stayed up late to test them (it’s midsummer) and found them very good. I also appreciate the much-reduced current draw.

ParticipantFurther to my June 24th post, I found a high-resistance connection to the RH headlamp. When fixed, it cured the slight flickering, which had been only in the LH one. Can’t explain the details but my problem is solved, so I’m now happy with my Classic Car LED lamps.

ParticipantI was told by one of the LED manufacturers that they are very susceptible to high resistance connections. Flickering is caused by them being unable to draw sufficient power to operate so they are on/off/on off constantly
