ICI (Imperial Chemical Industries) who made the paint for the SP through their automotive paint division was sold to PPG Industries Inc and it is now possible to create all the formulas required .

Over time some Daimler colours have been used by other manufactures such as Rochester or Royal Red , such as Ford.

There is a major automotive paint supplier here in Essex UK , who is able to create all these formulas , the down side is find a courier who will deliver.

I can supply the various paint formula required.

Delving into things I have found obtaining a paint formula much more complicated than expected, and it might be simplest just to get a spectral analysis done of an existing painted panel. Here in New Zealand our automotive paints industry is dominated by PPG’s Deltron paint brand. PPG’s Nexa Autocolor paint, which is widely used in the UK, is not available here. The two paints have different chemistries entirely and even the PPG head office for the Pacific region is unable to find a formula conversion for me. However I do have the formula and brand code for Nexa Autocolor in Mountain Blue (NRG1B). It is just no use to me!

My current approach is to try and find another Mountain Blue SP250 in New Zealand or Australia to see what they have used, and maybe persuade them to have their paintwork analyzed for me by a PPG supplier.
