Unfortunately while on a run before Christmas the crankshaft damper ‘let go’ and the rubber separated. After dismantling the radiator, steering rack , and other associated items, I am left with trying to get the crankshaft nut off which is putting up some resistance!
Question -is there a lock washer on the shaft or am I missing something!
Hi Simon, There is a keyed washer behind the nut. To arrest rotation of the crankshaft I usually position a steel bar between two slave bolts in the crankshaft pulley to react against the chassis. You can then use a suitable socket to undo the nut which is right hand thread b.t.w.
